Consistency across colours: Players who carried form across ISL clubs
These players wore many jerseys but maintained the same consistency wherever they went.

In football, few traits are as valuable as consistency. Players who deliver top performances season after season become prized assets for any team.
But consistency is often tested by transfers. A new jersey doesn’t just bring new colours, it comes with fresh demands and unfamiliar dynamics.
Joining a new club means adapting to a completely different environment and facing challenges that can disrupt rhythm and confidence. While some players falter, others manage to hold their ground and remain reliable performers.
The Indian Super League (ISL) has seen its fair share of such stories. Several players have successfully sustained their form despite switching clubs, showing that stability isn’t always tied to familiarity.
In this article, we spotlight ten such players who have remained consistent through every move, proving that true form can travel.
Jose Luis Espinosa Arroyo (Tiri)
Clubs: ATK FC → Jamshedpur FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant → Mumbai City FC

The ultimate professional. Now moving into his 10th season in the ISL, Tiri’s career has spanned across four ISL clubs, and his form has barely dipped. From his explosive early days with an ISL Cup-winning ATK FC side, to Jamshedpur FC’s promising early years, and then to his more conservative leadership roles at Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mumbai City FC, he has always been a symbol of defensive stability.
His reading of the game and physical presence rarely wavered, and he will go down in history as one of the best centre-backs in the league.
Bartholomew Ogbeche
Clubs: NorthEast United FC → Kerala Blasters FC → Mumbai City FC → Hyderabad FC
The second-highest goalscorer in the ISL, Ogbeche, is one of the finest strikers that the league has ever seen. The Nigerian ace didn't have long spells at any ISL clubs, with a maximum of two seasons at Hyderabad FC, and one season each with NorthEast United FC, Kerala Blasters FC, and Mumbai City FC. But that didn’t hamper his ability to leave a lasting legacy wherever he went.
Except for his season with the Blasters, where he still managed an impressive 16 goal contributions in 16 games despite the team missing out on the playoffs, Ogbeche helped every other team he played to reach the playoffs. He consistently led the line with skill and confidence, winning the ISL double with Mumbai City FC in 2020–21 and lifting the ISL Cup again the following season with Hyderabad FC. He ended his ISL journey with an outstanding 72 goal contributions in just 98 matches.
Amrinder Singh
Clubs: ATK FC → Mumbai City FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant → Odisha FC
Amrinder Singh made his ISL debut with ATK FC in 2015. After just one season in Kolkata, he moved to Mumbai City FC, where he spent five impactful years. From a backup goalkeeper in his early days to one of the league’s best, Singh’s growth was defined by resilience and consistency. He made headlines in the 2016 season by keeping five clean sheets in just six games and clinching the Golden Glove, showing an early glimpse of his potential.
Over time, his shot-stopping, composure with the ball at his feet, and leadership from the back made him a mainstay. In the 2020–21 campaign, Singh was instrumental in helping Mumbai City FC win the historic ISL double, keeping 10 clean sheets that season.
He then carried that same level of performance to Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a short stint, before moving to Odisha FC. Now, after three seasons with the Kalinga Warriors, Singh has remained as dependable as ever, showing that form and consistency can truly travel across colours.
Hugo Boumous
Clubs: FC Goa → Mumbai City FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant → Odisha FC

Boumous began his career at FC Goa as the creative fulcrum of the side, scoring goals, creating chances, and leading from midfield. His form remained high as he joined Mumbai City FC after three seasons with the Gaurs, capping off his short spell with the Islanders with the ISL double. His move to MBSG saw no dip either, as he continued to demonstrate progressive passing, set-piece quality, and attacking intelligence.
Ahead of 2024–25, he moved to Odisha FC to reunite with Sergio Lobera and sustained his end product and leadership presence despite the side’s overall struggle last season.
Rahul Bheke
Clubs: Kerala Blasters FC → FC Pune City → Bengaluru FC → Mumbai City FC → Bengaluru FC

A true journeyman in the ISL, Bheke has always done the job asked of him, whether as a composed full-back in his early days or now in a dependable centre-back role. His tactical intelligence and professionalism have ensured consistent contributions throughout his journey in the league.
Having represented four different clubs, he is currently in his second stint with Bengaluru FC, delivering defensively sound, positionally aware performances season after season. His goal in the ISL Cup final against FC Goa in the 2018–19 season cemented his legacy as a big-game player.
Ahmed Jahouh
Clubs: FC Goa → Mumbai City FC → Odisha FC
Jahouh has been a midfield mainstay wherever he’s played across his eight ISL seasons. The Moroccan midfielder has been the engine of every side, with his deep playmaking and game-controlling ability. He has consistently delivered, helping to break up play, recycle possession, and set a strong example.
Dropping between the two centre-backs, creating play from deep, and of course, with his set-piece abilities, he has always adapted to fit the system without compromising performance.
He has made 150 ISL appearances, scoring nine goals and providing 29 assists. His silverware includes three ISL Shields, two with Mumbai City FC and one with FC Goa, and an ISL Cup during the double-winning 2020–21 campaign with the Islanders.
Mourtada Fall
Clubs: FC Goa → Mumbai City FC → Odisha FC
Fall was introduced to the ISL in the 2018–19 season, and thereafter, he followed an identical path to Jahouh. And like Jahouh, he has also been a reliable leader, showcasing his brilliance wherever he went.
The towering centre-back's defensive commitment has barely dipped across seasons. What set him apart, however, was his dominance in attacking set-pieces. The Senegalese defender has netted 25 goals, the most by any defender in ISL history, along with six assists.
Javi Hernandez
Clubs: ATK FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant → Odisha FC → Bengaluru FC → Jamshedpur FC

Another journeyman in the ISL, Hernandez has been one of the most consistent midfielders since his ISL debut with ATK FC in the 2019–20 season. After helping the Kolkata side win their third ISL Cup, he maintained his form with Mohun Bagan Super Giant before a short spell at Odisha FC, where he showed that his vision, tempo, control, and set-piece mastery had remained intact.
At Bengaluru FC, he played a stabilising creative role, even when not in the limelight, and was key even during the club’s tough period in the 2023–24 campaign. Last season, he moved to Jamshedpur FC, where he was at the heart of every creative move and was vital in their run to the ISL semi-finals. His consistency stands out throughout his career.
Roy Krishna
Clubs: ATK FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant → Bengaluru FC → Odisha FC

Roy Krishna began his ISL journey with ATK FC, making an instant impact by finishing as the team’s top scorer with 15 goals and six assists, and helping them lift their third ISL Cup. He carried that form into Mohun Bagan Super Giant, registering 22 and 11 goal involvements in the next two seasons, respectively, despite an injury disrupting his second season.
Krishna then moved to Bengaluru FC, where he once again reached double digits in goal contributions (11) and scored in the ISL final against his former club, MBSG. However, the team eventually lost the final in a penalty shootout.
After a brief spell at BFC, Krishna moved to Odisha FC, where he rediscovered his scoring touch under Sergio Lobera, netting 13 goals and assisting three as the team reached the playoffs. Though his 2024–25 campaign was cut short by injury, he still scored three goals in nine appearances.
With 84 goal contributions, he is now the second-highest goal contributor in league history, behind Sunil Chhetri.
Lalengmawia Ralte (Apuia)
Clubs: NorthEast United FC → Mumbai City FC → Mohun Bagan Super Giant

Apuia's high work rate and game awareness caught the eye at NorthEast United FC, where he also won the Emerging Player of the Season award in his second season. His ability to maintain the tempo of the game and his reading at a young age attracted Mumbai City FC, where he spent the next three seasons and tasted his first domestic silverware.
With the Islanders, he was seen in a more advanced role, which he succeeded in, showing his versatility. The midfielder moved to MBSG ahead of the 2024–25 season, where he was remarkably consistent throughout, and became a mainstay at the heart of the midfield, helping the side win the ISL double.
