The 6 feet 3-inch towering centre-back was brought in by Sergio Lobera to plug FC Goa’s leaky defence ahead of the 2018-19 season and he didn't disappoint. Having played under Lobera before at Moghreb Tetouan, Mourtada Fall took little time to adapt to the system. The Senegalese was the undisputed star of the Gaurs' backline and powered them to the 2018-19 Hero ISL final. His second season at FC Goa saw him help them to the top of the Hero ISL table. His five goals were the highest by any defender in Hero ISL 2019-20. He joined Lobera at Mumbai City FC ahead of Hero ISL 2020-21 and played 22 matches for the Islanders in their title-winning campaign.
