It is an honour for me to captain Kerala Blasters FC: Adrian Luna
Luna made his long-awaited return in the game against NorthEast United FC, much to the delight of fans, as he has been a key player for the club in recent seasons.

Kerala Blasters FC midfielder Luna made a much-anticipated return to action in their Indian Super League (ISL) match against NorthEast United FC, coming off the bench for his first appearance of the season. Having been sidelined for an extended period due to injury during the 2023-24 season, Luna previously made his comeback in the one-legged playoff against Odisha FC in April.
Fans of Kerala Blasters FC have eagerly awaited Luna's return, as he has been one of the club’s most influential players over the past few seasons. Now in his fourth season with the Blasters, the Uruguayan has become a household name since joining in 2020, currently holding the record as the club's most capped foreign player. This summer, he signed a contract extension, signalling his commitment to the club for many more seasons to come.
“It is indeed amazing to be part of the club, to be part of the city that loves football so much. It is an honour for me to captain Kerala Blasters, a pleasure to play for. As you know, I have signed with the club for another three years,” Luna said in an interview to The New Indian Express.
Kerala Blasters FC have entered the new season not only with a fresh head coach in Mikael Stahre, but also with exciting new attackers, Noah Sadaoui and Jesus Jimenez. Sadaoui has already showcased his talent with impressive performances for former club FC Goa in the ISL, while Jimenez brings valuable experience from top leagues in Poland and the United States’ Major League Soccer.
With Luna’s return to the squad, the team’s attacking options are bolstered significantly. Together, this trio is expected to play a crucial role in driving the Blasters toward success and competing for trophies this season and Luna is looking forward to their partnership.

“We know the expectations heaped on us and will try to deliver our best. Noah has already shown what he can do during the Durand Cup. The same goes for Jesus. But when you transfer here from another country, you need a bit of time to adapt, to know your teammates and how they play. So far, everyone is doing a great job and we are so happy to have Noah and Jesus. We are looking forward to our next games,” Luna revealed.
Kerala Blasters FC will resume their campaign with an away match against Mohammedan Sporting Club in Kolkata on October 20 after the international break, followed by a home clash against Bengaluru FC just five days later.
The rivalry between the Blasters and the Blues has been one of the most intense over the seasons, and the upcoming encounter in Kochi promises to reignite that fierce rivalry.
When questioned about which team will pose the biggest challenge to the Blasters , Luna answered: “All teams are difficult. But it is certainly very different when you play against Bengaluru FC, with whom we have a history. So I think, when we clash again, it will be spicy!”
