ISL Fantasy Matchweek 7 Deadline: 4:00 PM IST, November 25, 2023

The ISL Fantasy has taken a huge leap this season, allowing supporters to put on their thinking caps and test their wits in building the perfect team with the revamped game.

ISL Fantasy managers have faced several hurdles and difficulties so far, with a blank and double Matchweek occurring within Matchweek 6 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. Despite these challenges, managers have successfully uncovered hidden gems and made bold moves to include them in their teams, gaining a competitive edge over their rivals.

A few players have transitioned from being relatively unknown to becoming staples in any decent manager's side this season. These are the players managers will want to acquire sooner rather than later before their price tags skyrocket beyond their reach.

Let's take a closer look at five of the surprise packages of the ISL Fantasy thus far.

Jay Gupta (FC Goa) – 30 Points

Jay Gupta has transformed from a relatively unknown player in the ISL to a key member of most ISL Fantasy managers' teams. The left-back has been in a tremendous run of form since making his debut in the league. FC Goa currently sits on top of the league, and Gupta has played a significant role both in defence and offence. The 22-year-old has managed to keep three clean sheets, scored a goal, and provided an assist in the last game against Chennaiyin FC. Despite standing second in the scoring chart with 30 points after Adrian Luna, Gupta is still priced at only ₹3.9.

Sachin Suresh (Kerala Blasters FC) – 29 Points

The Kerala-born goalkeeper has been with Kerala Blasters FC since 2020 but could not make his ISL debut at the start of this season. He finally made his league debut on the opening day against Bengaluru FC and has been a consistent presence between the sticks for the Blasters ever since. With penalty saves in each of the last two matches and a clean sheet against Jamshedpur FC, Sachin has accumulated 29 points. This point total is equal to the highest-scoring forward so far this season. With his current run of form, he has made a giant leap to the top of the ISL goalkeeper rankings.

Amey Ranawade (Odisha FC) – 24 Points

Ranawade has garnered the attention of ISL spectators as he rediscovered his natural form after reuniting with former head coach Sergio Lobera at Odisha FC. Beyond executing his defensive duties, Ranawade is actively contributing in the attacking half for his side, delivering crosses and providing width down the right flank. With a goal, an assist, and a clean sheet to his name, the right-back has amassed 24 points thus far, establishing himself as the leading point-getter for his side after Matchweek 6.

Parthib Gogoi (NorthEast United FC) – 23 Points

Gogoi may have scored four goals in the Durand Cup earlier this season, but few expected him to be as prolific as he has been in the ISL thus far. He has been given ample game time by head coach Juan Pedro Benali, and the forward has rightfully rewarded the Spaniard with goals. Gogoi found the back of the net in each of their opening three matches and has gradually earned a place in the ISL fantasy managers' teams. The forward is priced at just ₹5.4.

Danish Farooq (Kerala Blasters FC) – 23 Points

The midfielder is still a differential in ISL Fantasy with currently being selected by only 8% of managers. Farooq has provided attacking returns in two of the opening four matchweeks, scoring goals against Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC. He has been impressive this season while playing alongside Jeakson Singh, with the former taking on the more advanced role. However, with Jeakson out injured, Farooq is poised to play a pivotal role in the upcoming matches for the Blasters in the midfield.
