Kim Kima was dejected after Delhi Dynamos FC crashed out of Hero Indian Super League 2016 following a 3-0 loss on penalties in the second leg of their semi-final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. The match ended 2-1 after 90 minutes and extra time to level things up at 2-2 on aggregate following Kerala Blasters’ 1-0 win in the first leg. Delhi played the majority of the game with 10 men after Milan Singh received a direct red in the 28th minute. Kima played the full 120 minutes for Delhi but was helpless as he watched his team succumb in a nerve-racking penalty shootout. The 25-year-old spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. It must be very disappointing going out in penalty shootout. It’s always a lottery, isn’t it?It was an excellent game, we were just unlucky to lose on penalties. You played really well after being reduced to 10 men and fought very hard. What do you have to say about that?We wanted to reach the final and hence we fought as hard as we could after going one man down. We dominated the whole game but we lost on penalties.Today we saw the fans come out in large numbers to support you. Any message for them?I would just like to thank them for all the love and support they gave our team and want to apologise for not going through tonight but hope they will support us the same way next season as well.
