Anrirudh Thapa made his first appearance of Hero Indian Super League 2016 for Chennaiyin FC during their 5-4 defeat against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. The 18-year-old will surely remember his Hero ISL bow after the ebb and flow encounter in Goa ended as the highest-scoring match in the history of the league. The youngster made one block, one clearance and three successful tackles during his time on the pitch. He spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts.Difficult evening for you, what are your thoughts on the match?It was a great match. It was the last game for us, we wanted to win but unfortunately we didn’t. It happens, and in football you win some and lose some.You scored three goals in the first half. What was the plan for the second half, whether it was to go ahead and score more or sit back and defend?We were just looking to win the match and score a few more goals but we ended up conceding.This is the end of the season for you guys, what are the positives you think you can take from this one?Many youngsters like me got an opportunity to play. Today was my first match and I was very excited and I learned a lot from the senior players. It was an incredible experience for me.Who, according to you, is the favourite to win the ISL?Every team is playing well. I can’t say who will win but Delhi is a strong side and maybe they can win.
