Harmanjot Khabra will be looking to make his fifth appearance of Hero Indian Super League 2016 when Chennaiyin FC host NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. The match against the Highlanders will be the Super Machans’ penultimate game of the league stage and Marco Materazzi’s men will require all three points if they’re to keep their slim semis hopes alive. Chennai currently occupy seventh position in the standings with 14 points from 12 games and are a spot behind NorthEast due to an inferior goal-difference. Khabra, who has completed one block, one clearance, two key passes, three interceptions and three successful tackles in Hero ISL 2016, spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the clash against NorthEast. Here are the excerpts from the interview. After the defeat against Mumbai in your last game, how is the mood in the camp right now?Of course, losing is sad but this is football and we have got to carry on. Next two matches are very important for us and we have to go match by match. Next match is against NorthEast United and they are a very good team. Every player knows their role. We lost the last match but that is gone now and now it is important to win the next match. What kind of game are you expecting tomorrow, given that you will need two wins and a lot of other results to go your way to qualify?I think we have been through this kind of experience and we are used to making a comeback and I hope this year we will do the same, as last year also we were at the bottom and everybody thought we couldn’t make it. Now, it is the right time to step up for the fans.On the personal front, what kind of change and improvement has come in your game under the guidance of Marco Materazzi?I think he taught me all about the character of a player and that we should have self-belief and confidence, and that nothing is impossible.
