SC East Bengal have roped in Songpu Singsit on a permanent transfer that will see the promising left-winger stay at the club till the end of the season, it was announced on Tuesday.

Singsit joined the red and gold brigade from Hero I-League side NEROCA FC where he had a stellar last term, becoming the Hero I-League Fans Emerging Player for the 2020-2021 season.

“It is a big opportunity for me. SC East Bengal is one of the biggest clubs in India and I am so fortunate to be here. I will look to prove myself every day and give my best. I will also learn so much from the coaching staff and senior players around,” said the 22-year-old who is blessed with searing pace and is skilful on the ball.

“I am training hard every day, getting ready for the season. I can’t wait for the [Hero] ISL to start,” he added.

Singsit scored three goals and had three assists to his name in 14 games for NEROCA FC.

Singsit previously played for Muvanlai Athletics Sports Club before joining NEROCA last season.

SC East Bengal, coached by Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, took part in their maiden Hero ISL campaign last time and finished in ninth place.
