FC Goa head coach Zico was pleasantly surprised following his team’s 7-0 win against Mumbai City FC in their 2015 Hero Indian Super League match at Fatorda’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday evening. Thongkhosiem Haokip and Dudu scored hat-tricks while Reinaldo chipped in with one towards the end to help the Gaurs register the biggest win in the history of the league. Speaking to the media after the match, Zico’s joy knew no bounds.“It’s a result we didn’t expect. These results rarely happen. I am happy with the way that my team played, they gave everything there on the pitch. It makes me happy. Very difficult to play under pressure,” Zico, whose team consolidated its position at the top with 18 points from 10 matches, told reporters.“Teams playing away have been getting very good results. So we talk to players, prepare them mentally and I am very happy. We’re on the right track. We have to keep on doing our work and reach our target,” he added.Haokip became the second Indian after Sunil Chhetri to score a hat-trick in the Hero ISL. The 22-year-old forward sat alongside Zico at the press conference and expressed his joy at the feat, also crediting the Brazilian with his footballing development in the last few weeks. “I gave my best and everyone gave their best. It’s good that we won,” he said.“When I started in the pre-season, and till today he [Zico] has helped me a lot. Even my team-mates and support staff have helped me a lot to get better day by day.”
