FC Goa come into their first match of the tournament on the back of healthy friendly wins. However, manager and chief coach of the franchise, Zico, maintains that the friendlies count for nothing and the real test begins when his team set foot on the pitch in Wednesday's much anticipated clash with Marco Materazzi’s Chennaiyin FC.“The practice games were convincing in my opinion. But they were just practice games. Everything isn't done in a practice game apart from what is necessary. The objective of the friendlies for me, was to get the team organised,” said the marquee coach at a press conference on the eve of the match. Although his team got through the practice matches without conceding a goal, Zico insisted that a lot of work will have to be done on the pitch."I have told my players to observe Pires on the field."FC Goa coach ZicoA winning mentality is most important for Zico as a coach who has asked his players to learn from marquee signing Robert Pires. “I have told my players to observe Pires on the field. His skill, technique and temperament will be important to the side,” he said. “I do not have a problem if they do not play well. But I do not want them giving me less than 100% on the pitch.”Not revealing too much about team news, the Brazilian legend said that he has 25 out of 27 players at his disposal for tomorrow. On the likely XI to start the game, Zico mentioned that the team that started the friendlies would take the field.
