Delhi Dynamos FC head coach Gianluca Zambrotta wants to see an improvement in the ‘finishing’ department when they host Mumbai City FC in their 2016 Hero Indian Super League encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday evening. The last time Lions played here against NorthEast United FC on Saturday, they created a slew of opportunities but failed to make it count up front. In fact, it was a match of several missed opportunities from both sides.“We think we played a good match against NorthEast, who play some of the best football in the Hero Indian Super League. We had a lot of opportunities against the NorthEast and of course we must learn how to capitalise on these opportunities. Of course, this is the first step to take,” Zambrotta told reporters on Monday. The World Cup-winning Italian also elaborated on his strategy that has seen Delhi Dynamos initiate most of their attacks with the goalkeeper passing the ball to the centre-back and building it up from there. “Of course, you can adapt to one strategy but then it depends on the opponent. Because if they press too much, then you have to re-arrange your position and your team in the best way possible. And if your opponent cannot press too much, then you can take the opportunity to play out of defence and organise your men in midfield,” the 39-year-old said.Mumbai City, on the other hand, have been flexible going in with different team compositions and players playing in various positions. Commenting on that, Zambrotta said: “You are right when you say that they start differently in different games but for us it is important that we maintain the team identity. So of course we will also adapt [to different situations] from match to match but our identity is most important.”In their first home game of the season against Highlanders, the Lions witnessed over 27,000 spectators thronging the stadium. Zambrotta said playing in front of home fans was an important factor. “Of course, when you are playing at home, it’s exciting for the player and the coach to have the supporters in the stadium at home, so it’s much more exciting. In the first match, the stadium was almost full. Of course, there were mixed supporters but to have home supporters in the stadium makes a difference and gives us an advantage.”
