Delhi Dynamos FC came from behind in thrilling fashion to draw 3-3 with Mumbai City FC in their 2016 Hero Indian Super League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. The hosts made life difficult for themselves after going in two goals down at the break courtesy of a Krisztian Vadocz double. Richard Gadze reduced the deficit within six minutes of the restart only for Sony Norde to restore Mumbai's two-goal advantage in the 69th minute. However, a spirited late fightback by the Lions saw substitute Badara Badji and Marcelinho score in the final 15 minutes of the game to make it 3-3 at full-time. Dynamos head coach Gianluca Zambrotta was quick to attribute his side's slow start to the match to a spate of early mistakes and also chalked their second half resurgence up to a change in formation.“We didn't prepare for the match correctly. We made a lot of mistakes in the first half. But in the second half we kept getting better. We had preparations to play against Mumbai City FC but the first half was not good as there were some mistakes. The second half, we changed our game a little,” Zambrotta told reporters at the post-match press conference. He continued: “Fortunately, because of some mistakes from the Mumbai City FC team we could come back from 3-1 down. At the start, we had planned to use the space on the wings but it didn't work for us and we were soon trailing 2-0. So we had to change the game plan and we moved to a 4-2-4 formation and fortunately we were able to draw the game.”Florent Malouda made his second start of Hero ISL 2016 and played an influential role in midfield with 64 touches of the ball - the most by any attacking player on the pitch - as well as two key passes. When asked for his thoughts on the Frenchman's performance, Zambrotta said: “Malouda in the last match played only thirty minutes but he played very well and today also was a difficult match as he was part of the starting eleven and he is very happy with his position and what he is doing and how he is playing.”He added: “Initially we started with 4-3-3 and after that we changed it to 4-2-4 which was a bit of a risk and I am very happy with Malouda. He is a very important player to us.”Ghanaian striker Richard Gadze, who notched up four goals and two assists for Delhi in Hero ISL 2015, had a field day on Tuesday evening. He opened his goal-scoring account this season, provided an assist and also earned his side the all-important penalty for the equaliser. Asked if he was happy with the draw and whether he thought the introduction of Badji helped him up front, Gadze said: “I think the coach made a good decision by bringing on Badara as he is tall. I told him that he should go for the first ball and that I will go behind him and I think it really worked for us.”
