Chennaiyin FC’s matchwinner Vladimir Koman expressed delight at his team’s win but felt there was a lot more to come from Chennaiyin FC as they beat Hyderabad FC 1-0 in their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) opener.

Hungarian midfielder Koman scored the only goal of the game, via a spot-kick in the 66th minute.

However, Koman, who was named the Hero of the Match for his winner, slammed his team's performance in the first half but improved after the half-time whistle.

“It was a hard time because the first half was horrible for us. To be honest, we were thinking that we need to improve in the second half and we came out a little bit better, but I believe in the future that we are going to do much, much better. It was a very difficult, hard atmosphere for us today. So I hope in the future that we're going to be better,” said the Hungarian footballer.

Coach Bandovic echoed his player’s thoughts and called for improvement from his team.

“Yeah, it's a good win. It's an important three points. We won the game, but, of course we cannot be happy with the way we played, especially in the first half, because we showed in the preparation and most of the games that we move the ball, we keep the ball and this game, we didn't do it. But if you win these games, then it's important for confidence. And, of course, in the next game, we need to be much better”, said Bandovic, after the win.

Hyderabad FC’s Bartholomew Ogbeche had a decent game and even came close to scoring a few times, but failed to convert. The striker feels that they need to pick themselves up and take the positives to the next game.

“I'm really disappointed because if the game ended 4-1, no one would have said anything, but you know, football is such a humbling game at times and we just need to pick ourselves up, take the positives to the next game,” said Ogbeche, during the post-match interview.

Hyderabad FC will be up against defending champions Mumbai City FC in their next match on November 27, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in Margao. Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC will face NorthEast United FC on November 29, at the same venue.
