‘Welcome to Hero ISL’, Twitter reacts to East Bengal joining India’s top-flight football league

The announcement means that the famous Kolkata derby between East Bengal and ATK Mohun Bagan FC is now set to take place in the Hero ISL.

The decision to include East Bengal in the Hero ISL means that from the 2020-21 season, there will be 11 clubs fighting for the League Winners Shield and the Hero ISL trophy. It also means that there will be two clubs from the same city for the first time in Hero ISL history.
