SC East Bengal's interim head coach Renedy Singh said that his team are capable of much better than what their results suggest and feels the team can turn things around in the remaining Hero Indian Super League (ISL) matches.

The Red and Gold Brigade who are in their second season of the Hero ISL have remained winless in the tournament this season, and sit at the bottom of the league table.

Singh took charge of the team after former head coach Jose Manuel Diaz departed the club on mutual consent.

Singh spoke to the SC East Bengal media team and here are the excerpts of the interaction.

Are you satisfied with your team performance?

Thanks to all the players the way they have played in the last match against Hyderabad FC, that was a very good fight and before that match against North East (United FC) that was a very bad performance.  We gave up in that match. But then again after the Hyderabad FC match, the way the boys had fought, we should continue doing that. In the last two training sessions they have given 100% and I want them to continue doing the same and I hope in coming matches if we can keep up the fight, we will get better results.

How will you uplift the team morale, as they are still winless in the tournament?

So, now when we don't have a good match,  normally, the players sit down and team morale goes down, but then again, if we look back, we played well against Kerala (Blasters FC). We played well against Jamshedpur FC. Hyderabad FC have beaten Odisha 6-1 recently but we had a good match against them too. So, as you see that we are not that bad like I said boys should keep working hard. They should play every match like as it’s the last match and they should train well. I'm sure we will do well, just need to keep fighting.

How would you take this team ahead, any changes to team structure or tactics in upcoming matches?

We have to work on the structure, we have to work on the shape, attacking, and defending and that's very important. It’s not like attacking five players, nothing in the middle, and defending five players. We all have to work together, save while attacking and save while defending, the transition from attack to defense and defense to attack to defense.
