Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil urged his players to maintain a positive mindset when they host second-placed Mumbai City FC in their upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) game at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Friday.

The Men of Steel staged a remarkable comeback in the reverse fixture by scoring three goals in the second half after trailing 2-0. Jamil’s men will be determined to get back on the winning track after facing a 3-0 defeat against Mohun Bagan SG in their recent outing.

They will be eyeing a league double against Mumbai City FC for the second time in the ISL to continue their chase for the final playoff spot.

Jamil instructed his players to rectify their mistakes from their last match and be attentive to their game. He did not comment on their recent victory against the Islanders; rather, he wanted his players to keep their eyes fixed on the forthcoming match.

“Certainly, we're currently focusing on learning from our recent match against Mohun Bagan SG rather than dwelling on past away games. It didn't meet our expectations, so we're determined to bounce back, especially since we're playing on our home turf,” Jamil said in the pre-match press conference.

The head coach had words of praise for their opponents and urged his players to level up their performance on their home turf. He asked his players to give their best to get the better of the in-form Mumbai City FC.

“Our approach will differ this time. I've previously acknowledged the talent of both Mohun Bagan SG and Mumbai City FC players, but playing at home changes the dynamic,” he stated.

“We need to learn from our previous performance and maintain a positive mindset, focusing on our own game. Our players are putting in immense effort, fully aware of the significance of this match,” he added.

Jamil believed that the unwavering support from their supporters would help his players display a promising performance against the second-placed team. When quizzed about the importance of having support from the home crowd, Jamil asserted, "Fan support is crucial for us, particularly during home matches.”

“When backed by fans, every player is motivated to give their best. So, we urge our supporters to continue rallying behind us for this pivotal game,” he signed off.

Being trusted by the coach greatly enhances my confidence: Mohammed Sanan

Mohammed Sanan accompanied his head coach ahead of their next home game against Mumbai City FC. The winger has scored two goals and provided an assist in 16 appearances so far.

Sanan expressed his appreciation to his head coach and highlighted how the coach's trust has helped him elevate his game.

"Being trusted by the coach greatly enhances my confidence, and I feel fortunate to train alongside some of the country's top players, absorbing invaluable lessons from them," he said.

“My performance has been improving, which I attribute to the coach's guidance and the collective encouragement from teammates. The coach's approach of pushing all players, not just me, helps the growth of the entire team,” Sanan concluded.
