Bengaluru FC midfielder Javier Hernandez said the players feel the presence of fans, regardless if they are playing at home or away in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). The Blues have witnessed a tough run of results so far, with four defeats in seven games.

While it might not be the start they expected after a strong pre-season, the Blues have been strongly bolstered by the support of the BFC faithful during these testing times. The supporters have not stopped believing in the team and have stuck besides the team irrespective of the outcome of the game. Hernandez encouraged the fans to keep supporting the Blues and believes his team can bounce back and have a good season.

“They are amazing, not only in the home matches but also when we are playing the away matches, and that’s very important for us, we feel them closely when we’re playing on the field. Big thanks to them, keep supporting us, we are all together and hope to have a good season,” Hernandez spoke to BFC TV in a pre-match interview.

“As I said, just support us, we will give our 100%, we need them and they need us, so we are all together and then hope to get the three points on Saturday,” he added.

Hernandez was delighted to score the match-winning goals for his side in their previous game against FC Goa. The Spaniard graced the presence by finding the back of the net twice, one in each half. Not only did his two goals handed the Blues their second win of the season but it also ended their worrisome four-game goalscoring drought and put the team back on the winning track.

“I’m really very happy about the last game against FC Goa. We won, I scored two goals, but I’m also happy because at the start of the season, we couldn’t get the results that we wanted to get,” he said.

Simon Grayson’s men have taken some time to adapt and adjust to his philosophy of football, but their league position doesn’t determine what's ahead for the Durand Cup champions. While it was only just their second win of the season, the midfielder feels there’s more to come from the side in terms of winning matches.

“Last match was very good for us, and I hope we keep it set for the upcoming matches. As I said, we didn’t start properly, but I think after the last match against FC Goa, we got good confidence, and the team showed very good character. Everyone was incredibly good, from the goalkeeper to everyone else who was in the match,” he added.

Bengaluru FC host Kolkata heavyweights ATK Mohun Bagan in their upcoming game in matchweek nine of the Hero ISL. With both sides coming into the game on the back of a win, it seems to be an interesting battle on the cards.

“Now, we are working well, we need to improve on some aspects and we’re looking forward to winning the next match,” Hernandez concluded.
