Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov admitted that his team fell short in the final minutes of the game as they succumbed to a late Sunil Chhetri brace which saw them lose a one-goal lead to lose 1-2 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Wednesday.

The Black and Whites have conceded plenty of goals in the dying minutes of the match to lose precious points and Wednesday was a continuation of that story.

Match Report: Mohammedan SC 1-2 Bengaluru FC

The Russian head coach felt this is a learning curve for his team.

“We haven't been conceding late goals in every game but it has happened in some games. It's about concentration. They brought on good players in the second half and put a lot of pressure on us,” he said during the pre-match press conference.

“If you have to keep the point against Bengaluru FC in the final minutes, we need to play in a different way. But this will come with experience,” he added.

Mohammedan SC are in the 12th position and have just five points in eight matches. The Russian replied in the affirmative when asked whether the club plans to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.

“We will assess which players we want and which players are not of the level (we need),” he said.

“All teams will do the same. Even the team that wins the Champions League in Europe buys new players. It's normal in football. For sure, we need players with experience to help the young players and we will try to do something in the January transfer window,” he concluded.
