The Blues currently occupy the 10th position on the league table with their chances of making it through to the playoffs hanging in the balance. In 16 games, the Gerard Zaragoza-coached side has registered 15 points to their name with a mere three wins. Taking on Hyderabad FC, who have not yet managed to secure a victory so far this season, Bengaluru FC will be determined to steal all three points, keeping their hopes of making it through to the playoffs alive.

Bengaluru FC are the second lowest goal scorers in the league this season, only behind Hyderabad FC (5 goals), having scored 15 goals in 16 matches. The assistant head coach believes that his team is going through a process of development, as exhibited in Mumbai in their previous match, and continuing the same will ensure their goals and wins in the upcoming matches.
He said, “We don't want to play that game where I attack, you attack. We want to stay compact and create and open up more chances. We need more bodies up front. And I feel till 75 minutes, the boys have given everything over there. So I think that's a big step. And it's a process that we have to continue and we can't skip that. So I feel if we continue doing that, goals will come and wins will come for sure," Renedy said during the pre-match press conference.
“If we believe, and I'm sure all the coaches, the players, we all believe in the system, it will come. The good thing is that we are creating chances, and we didn't score but to score, again, we have to create more chances and (this) will happen soon,” Singh added.
The 44-year-old is aware that their match against Hyderabad FC is a must-win fixture if they want to stay in the race for the playoffs.
“It is going to be difficult. But if we concentrate on our game I feel we should do well and we have to do well, you know, we have to win this match,” he shared.
Singh continued, “The team knows that we have to win. We have to gain three points and we have got big matches coming up. But we can't be thinking about if we qualify or not. We have to think about the next match, and how we can give our 100% best and come out as winners. And that's the most important.”
Defender Naorem Roshan Singh accompanied the assistant head coach to the press conference. The wing-back is glad that Gerard Zaragoza was assigned as the head coach back in December 2023 and believes that he is more adapted to playing Zaragoza’s style of football.
“I am more adapted to play in this kind of tactics because we like to keep the ball, we like to defend as a team and attack as a team,” stated Roshan Singh.
The Blues have conceded 25 goals thus far in the league this season, with only Hyderabad FC conceding more (27). Since his arrival at Bengaluru FC, Zaragoza made his presence known in the winter transfer market when he signed Chinglensana Singh and Nikhil Poojary from Hyderabad FC.
Speaking about these signings and how they fit into the system, Renedy Singh stated, “If you see the last four or five games, you see the way we have played, and it shows that it is developing, it shows that system is going in place and those two players coming in, it's not easy, but they have adapted well and I hope they do better. Even more, because they are the national team players and they have a good experience. So I hope it adds more to us and gives us a win.”
On being asked how the inclusion of Sana and Poojary has impacted Roshan Singh’s role at the club, the 25-year-old provided a very positive outlook.
“Both are experienced players who can accept (the system) from any team. And I'm glad that they enjoy Bengaluru FC and they have been doing good and I'm also enjoying playing with them,” he shared.
