We lost two points against Mumbai City FC: Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil
Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil shared his thoughts after playing out a 1-1 draw against Mumbai City FC.
Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil expressed his displeasure after his team dropped points against Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Friday.
The Men of Steel broke the deadlock at the hour mark with super-sub Javier Siverio, who found the back of the net just after coming on with his sharp right-footed flick inside the box. However, the Islanders levelled the score in the 74th minute when Vikram Partap Singh played a delightful through ball to Lallianzuala Chhangte, who made a precise finish. Both sides created a couple more clear-cut chances, but they were unable to find the winning goal.
Jamil commended his players' efforts but felt that his side could have done more to prevent the Indian international from scoring the equalizing goal.
“Talking about the game, the players worked hard. Due to some silly mistakes, we conceded that goal. We allowed (Lallianzuala) Chhangte to come inside and score. I can't say anything more,” Jamil said in the post-match press conference.

The first half was evenly contested and Jamshedpur FC head coach introduced Spanish forward Javier Siverio to inject more strength into their attacking line.
Jamil acknowledged that Siverio made a positive impact coming off the bench, giving his side the opportunity to take the upper hand against their opponents.
“In the first half, it was 50-50. But in the second half, since Siverio came in, it was totally a different (game),” he asserted.
Jamil acknowledged that the match unfolded according to their strategy, with the exception of the conceded goal. Despite his satisfaction with their overall performance, he expressed disappointment at dropping points from a winning position.
“Unfortunately, we lost two points against Mumbai City FC, which is not good,” he said.
“Everything was good. Our plan was to use Javier Siverio in the second half, and he came in and scored,” Jamil signed off.
