Odisha FC head coach Kiko Ramirez felt disappointed after losing to Chennaiyin FC, 2-1 on Saturday in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at Tilak Maidan Stadium but asks his team to continue to work hard for the upcoming matches.

Odisha FC recorded their second consecutive loss, taking them to fifth in the standings. Chennaiyin FC took an early lead in the 23rd minute with Germanpreet Singh scoring his first Hero ISL goal while Mirlan Murzaev doubled down in the 63rd minute. Javier Hernandez fired the consolation goal for Odisha FC with a brute strike in the added time.

In the backdrop of Odisha FC’s defeat to Chennaiyin FC, coach Kiko Ramirez spoke to the media in the official post-match press conference.

Here are the excerpts from the press conference:

In the pre-match you talked about getting an opportunity for the boys, how hard is it to not make use of the opportunity?

We feel disappointed for not achieving the victory but this is football, so, chin-up and keep working hard. Looking forward to the next match and we will try to win again.

You’ve lost three in the last four matches, what do you think is not working for Odisha FC?

It is not like that. We have played six matches, won three and lost three. Maybe because the other teams are better. That’s all, we will try to be better in the next match.

You’ve made a lot of changes with not having Vinit (Rai) today among others, what is the reason behind them and did they work?

All the players are working hard. Today we put in Thoiba (Singh) and we are happy with that decision. All the players are doing well and they deserve to play. The good thing for instance is that they made their first appearance in the ISL. Sebastian (Thangmuansang) played for the first time for us in the league, we are happy about that.
