Match Report: Dominant Hyderabad FC brush aside NorthEast United FC in Guwahati
HFC head coach Manolo Marquez felt the visitors deserved the win and was delighted with the overall performance from the team.
Here are the excerpts from his press conference:
A good win for Hyderabad FC and it was a relatively easy win for you. Did you expect the game to go this way?
It's very difficult to say that it was an easy game. When you are in the dugout, you always are worried till the last action. You want to keep the clean sheet, but I think that we deserved to win. I don't know if 3-0 is correct or not. But if we speak about the game overall, I think that we deserved the win.
You have scored three goals in back-to-back games. Your thoughts on your team’s attacking performance from these games compared to last season?
I don't want to compare to the last season, because if we compare, we will always lose. But it's true that last season, with not too much (attack in games) we could score a lot of goals. Even when the opponent was playing better. I remember one game against SC East Bengal that we had been winning 1-0, and they were continuously attacking in the first half. And two minutes towards the end of the first half, we scored the second and the third.
Today more or less, we created a lot of chances. NorthEast United FC had some chances. I remember one clear chance of the header from (Matt) Derbyshire. But more or less, I am happy with the performance in defence and in attack.
Your thoughts on Manoj Mohammad’s performance who is playing in the Hero ISL for the first time?
We know that in this (left-back) position, Akash Mishra is the left-back in the national team.
But this is the reason that you have one squad of 25-27 players. Because in some moments when the players are injured, like in this case with Akash, when he came back from the national team, we signed this player (Manoj). And in the last game against Mumbai City FC and even today, he showed that he can play at the level of the Hero ISL.
