Alex Ambrose's Lionesses side will be looking to keep their perfect record in the Hero U-17 Women's Championship intact when they face Priya PV's Tigresses in the final at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium in West Bengal on Sunday. Both sides have impressed in the tournament with their attacking displays and fans can look forward to a scintillating finale to what has been an absorbing competition so far.

Lionesses

The Lionesses, without the shadow of a doubt, have been the most dominant team in the competition, winning all their matches, having scored 13 goals so far and conceding just two. Forward Lynda Kom Serto has emerged as a sensation for the team, scoring four goals in three matches. Other strikers and midfielders like Shilky Devi Hemam, Sumati Kumari, Astam Oraon, Priyangka Devi Naorem and Priyanka Sujeesh Pottekkat have also been among goals, making Alex Ambrose's side a versatile outfit with multiple outlets to change the narrative in matches.

One of the highlights of the team has been the three at the back system, allowing the side a lot more width and the ability to outnumber opposition defenders on the flanks. The three in the back, led by Daisy Crasto and Kiran playing as the defensive screen has looked solid so far, and perhaps only came under any sort of pressure in the second half of their last match against the Tigresses. The Lionesses will be favourites on paper going into the fixture and will be expected to go for the win right from the start.

Tigresses

PV Priya's Tigresses, despite their 4-1 loss against the Lionesses on Friday, have given a good account of themselves so far. The strength of the team lies on the wings with Anju in the left flank and Ambika Baxla in the right flank regularly terrorizing defences with their cleverly-timed marauding runs and opening up space for striker Karen Estrocio through the middle. With a little bit of luck and minus some defensive oversights, the Tigresses could have very well avoided a loss, or even won, their last match against Lionesses, especially taking into account their second-half display.

It is also to be noted that neither Karen or midfield ace Martina Thokchom started Friday's match against the Lionesses and with the two expected to be unleashed from the get go for Sunday's final, the Tigresses can turn out to be much more of a challenge to Alex Ambrose's charges than they were in the last outing.
