After three months of non-stop action, the Hero Indian Super League is building up to an exciting climax, set to culminate in the league’s Grand Finale on December 20, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The closing ceremony and final will kick off at 6:00 PM IST. The ISL has quickly captivated audiences in India and across the world, becoming one of the highest-attended football competitions globally. More than 1 million fans have come to the eight ISL stadiums to witness the ‘birth of a footballing nation’, and the league has also seen record television viewership.Crowds and viewers have been drawn by the exciting action on the pitch, with over 100 goals having been scored – an average of over two goals per match. The defensive side of the pitch has also seen plenty of action, with penalty saves and goal-saving tackles providing many thrilling moments for the fans.Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Atlético de Kolkata, and Kerala Blasters FC are the four semifinalists for the inaugural edition of the ISL. Chennaiyin FC face off against Kerala Blasters FC, with the first leg in Kochi on December 13 followed by the return fixture in Chennai on December 16. FC Goa play Atlético de Kolkata in Kolkata on December 14, and then host the second leg in Fatorda on December 17. The two winners will be vying for the chance to make history by being the first champions of the ISL.
