Things aren't going our way: JFC's Steven Dias after third straight loss
Steven Dias stressed the importance of hard work and improved defence following their 3-0 loss to Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
Jamshedpur FC's assistant coach Steven Dias voiced his disappointment and highlighted the need for continued improvement following their defeat to Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Saturday.
The match saw Jamshedpur FC start the match strongly, but individual brilliance and set-piece weaknesses allowed the Mariners to defeat the Men of Steel 3-0 and climb to the top of the table.
Tom Aldred opened the scoring with a stunning volley in the 15th minute. Liston Colaco doubled the lead before halftime with a left-footed strike into the corner, assisted by Manvir Singh. Jamie Maclaren sealed the result in the 75th minute, finishing a close-range effort.
Match Report: Mohun Bagan Super Giant vs Jamshedpur FC
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Dias expressed frustration over the recurring defensive lapses while maintaining hope for a turnaround.
“I think if you see the matches, we are doing well, but we are conceding goals. We are also working on it, and how to overcome it. Today, also, the match we started so well, we were keeping shape. We were a well-balanced team," Dias stated.

"When we were analysing Mohun Bagan Super Giant before our match, they scored eight goals from set pieces. So we worked on it, and then again the first goal we conceded was from a set piece. They have individual brilliant players. If you see the second goal, where Liston Colaco scored, it was individual brilliance. So I think right now, things are not going our way. I think we will go back, again we will analyse our mistakes, and hopefully, we will come back stronger,” he added.
With three consecutive defeats, Jamshedpur FC remained in 7th position on the table with four wins. Speaking about the need to bounce back from this situation, Dias reiterated that the team must continue working hard.
“Mohun Bagan Super Giant are a good team. One of the best teams in the ISL… I think they played better than us as they won. We need only hard work, go back, train, analyse our training sessions, analyse our mistakes, and minimise our mistakes."
"Every day in training sessions and reduce our mistakes and then give confidence to each other. I believe in team unity; we have to make it stronger. Yes, that's it. Hard work is the only solution," Dias commented.
Jamshedpur FC will look to analyze their mistakes and regroup ahead of their next match against Mohammedan SC on December 2.
