Riding on their 1-0 away win against defending champions Atlético de Kolkata a few days ago, Delhi Dynamos FC are all set to host NorthEast United FC and clinch those three vital points. The Roberto Carlos-mentored team is placed second in the league standings currently and will be looking forward to a fruitful run in the home games lined up ahead. At the moment, however, the only thing the Lions are looking at is the match against the Highlanders. “Sometimes, the table doesn’t show the skills of each team. NorthEast United is a great team with great players. So, obviously, we are going to struggle to win tomorrow,” said the Brazilian marquee player-cum-coach at the pre-match press conference. “It doesn't matter where each team is in the table but I’m hoping to win,” he stated.John Arne Riise, who had accompanied Carlos at the media interaction, spoke well about the overall performance of the team, as well as himself. “The more games you play, the more confident you get. I am getting more confident with the players around me. We have had five away games so far and the travel has been tough. But we have 12 points. It’s been a good start for me and the team.”When asked about his transition from left-back to centre-back, Riise mentioned, “Roberto asked me where I’d prefer to play but it doesn't matter to me. I play where the manager wants me to play – left-back, centre-back, centre midfield… But I’m enjoying playing centre-back. I think my relationship with Anas [Edathodika] has been good. He’s a strong defender.”Carlos, too, seemed content with the team’s goal-scoring abilities and was looking forward to playing host to the other Hero ISL clubs.According to the Brazilian legend, the Dynamos ought to make the most of their home games. “I work always to be the champion. It’s a very complicated league but we now have home games. We’re going to try and win as many, and try to get to the playoffs. [I am] not saying the last season was bad but this season – it’s all down to the players.”
