The fourth day of the 2017 Reliance Foundation Young Champs Club Scouting Festival took place at the Greater Noida Sports Complex on Sunday. It began at 8:30 am and witnessed several youngsters take the field and showcase their footballing ability as they looked to impress the on-looking coaches at the venue and make the RFYC Final Selection Camp next month. The budding talents were put through their drills and evaluated by seven coaches from Delhi Dynamos FC’s grassroots development programme as well as Piet Hubers, technical director of grassroots development, and Mark Vaessen, head coach of the RFYC.Commenting on the day’s action, a local coach said: “I think once we came in we saw the organisation was the best thing about the set-up. Once the trials [began], we could see the players were really energetic given the conditions but yeah if we look at the overall display of the boys, it was really good. We could see energy, we could see enthusiasm, we could see passion, we could see attitude because that’s what we want from Delhi boys in general and they gave it all today.”The club scouting festival started with the aspirants demonstrating their technical skills through passing and receiving drills. The focus of the festival then shifted to their positional sense as they were segregated into groups of 7-v-3 and 6-v-4 to go up against one another. The Delhi Dynamos FC Scouting Festival in Noida (part of Delhi-NCR) ended with the youngsters participating in a 7-a-side match. Day 5 of the Club Scouting Festival will be held in the football crazy state of Kerala.
