Renedy Singh dissects Bengaluru FC’s narrow defeat against Mohammedan SC
The Bengaluru FC assistant coach explained the reasons behind the loss to Mohammedan SC, which was their fourth defeat of the season.
Bengaluru FC assistant coach Renedy Singh shared his dissatisfaction over their performance as the Blues suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat against Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
In Bengaluru, both teams generated multiple chances throughout the match but failed to find the back of the net for the majority of the game. Despite the home side dominating possession and creating the more promising opportunities, their missed chances proved costly when Mirjalol Kasimov broke the deadlock in the 88th minute with his fantastic goal from a free, resulting in a second away victory for the Black and White Brigade.
This marked the 10th occasion that Bengaluru FC failed to score against a Kolkata club in the ISL. The Blues have suffered defeats in all 10 of these encounters. Singh underscored their inability to convert goal-scoring chances which saw them lose three points on home turf.
“The chances that we got, we have to capitalize on that. In football, if we don't convert those chances, you know, one good free-kick, it's bound to happen,” he said in the post-match press conference.
“We have created many chances today, but again, we just couldn't put it in.. It's a league, so we have to carry on. We have to recover, analyze, and work again. We have to keep creating chances until we put it inside the goal. And that's the work we have to do,” he continued.

Shivaldo Singh Chingangbam made his return on the pitch as he was brought in the second half, replacing Sunil Chhetri. The young midfielder also got the chance to break the deadlock in the 73rd minute when was on the receiving end of William’s brilliant cross but missed the target by a whisker.
“Good to see him back. But again, what a ball from Ryan (Williams). Just one yard, he just has to put in. But he tried his best. But I'm sure in the coming matches, he'll put up a better performance,” Singh remarked.
The Bengaluru FC assistant coach acknowledged his team was good enough in generating offensive moves but urged his players to work hard on the training ground to get the better of the chances.
“In the first half and even in the second half, there are a lot of chances. Even in the first half, all those half-chances and some good chances. So now, our work is how we can carry on now. We will work and work and work until we score goals. And that's what we have to do,” he opined.
“Of course, yes, the players are sad for sure. Everyone should be sad because it's a home match. We lost three points. But again, in a few days, we are playing in Hyderabad. And we have to do our best over there and get a point,” he concluded.
