The hunt for a first win in the AFC Champions League is still on as Mumbai City FC prepare for their next group stage match-up against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Air Force Club) of Iraq at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday.

Suffering a 3-0 loss in the first game to Al-Shabab FC, the Islanders face an uphill battle against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya as the reigning Iraqi Cup Winners and Champions registered their first win against Al-Jazira, leading to a nine-game unbeaten run in the competition, and are placed second in the group.

Key Players

Mumbai City FC

Vikram Partap Singh: The youngster might bring the spark the Islanders’ need. He racked up three important goals in the recent Hero ISL campaign and has the energy to trouble opponents.

Mourtada Fall: The Senegalese defender has a towering presence in the Islanders’ backline and is key in their progressive play. The 34-year-old won six duels and made two clearances in the last match.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya

Hammadi Ahmed: A seasoned player at the club, Hammadi has netted six times this season (the most by any Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya player), twice in the last four games. A fox in the box, the forward will be a constant threat for the Islanders.

Roderick Miller: The defender has made his name for Al-Quwa and Al-Jawiya, and is a huge wall at the back for his side. An experienced veteran at this level, Miller will be key for the Iraqi champions against an opponent they have never faced before.
