FC Pune City head coach David Platt expects a difficult game when his side lines up against Delhi Dynamos FC in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League (ISL] at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Wednesday.

Despite winning their previous two matches in a convincing manner, Platt, speaking to the media on Tuesday, seemed grounded and said his side was focussed against a good team. “Good team, good players. Some dangerous individuals. We will expect a difficult game.

“But we respect every opposition that we will play, there’s no doubt about it. But our focus is on what we could achieve ourselves. We want to dictate how we want to play and hopefully allow the opposition to worry about us.”

Pune beat Mumbai City FC 3-1 and then picked up a narrow 1-0 win against NorthEast United FC that took them to the top of the table. However, Platt insisted his side was past the euphoria of those two wins and was now looking at the Delhi game.

“Two wins are nice to have obviously, but they’re in the past. Now we concentrate on the next game as it is our first game. Regardless of the other results, we don’t change our preparations. We are in a confident mood because of the results but at the same time we know there are certain aspects of our game we can do better,” he said.

Platt also said the league so far had been very competitive and on Wednesday there would be little to choose between the two teams. “What I would expect from our oppositions, any opposition is that all games are going to be tough since there is parity between the teams.

“We’ve played two games and got two victories but the games could have gone either way. They could have finished in draws or defeats for us. We are delighted to have taken the six points from two games but I have seen every team in the league. There is a competitiveness you couldn’t dictate as to how games would go or the league would go.

“You cannot dictate if one game will be easier or difficult compared to the next. The only one I saw till now that one team dominated the proceedings was the Chennaiyin game a couple of nights before against Goa. That was the only one that seemed a bit one-sided because the goals came at the right time. But other than that all games could have swung either way.”
