Ahead of their 2015 Hero Indian Super League encounter against hosts Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Wednesday, FC Pune City coach David Platt is not setting much store by the positions of the two sides in the table. While Pune lead the table with 13 points from seven matches, last year’s finalists Kerala are languishing at the bottom with five points from seven matches. However, Platt, speaking to the media ahead of the game, dismissed a suggestion that his side had the upper hand going into the match.“I don't think…They played well in their last 90 minutes with Chennai [which ended in a 1-1 draw]…See, positions of the teams are irrelevant...It's going to be a difficult game whichever way you look at it,” Platt told reporters on Tuesday.Pune are mostly playing away over the next few weeks and when asked if travelling could undermine their position in the top half of the table, Platt said: “No it is not a concern for us right now since we are first but yes we need a few points to cement our place in the top 4.“Every game that we played has been tight it could have gone either way. I do know that the team has been showing a lot of character at the moment which reflects our position. They've managed to turn around a lot of games. We have a group of players that believes in itself and we have full confidence in them as well. It is not a concern that the matches coming our way are away matches. My concern is tempered by our current position.”Pune midfielder Sushanth Mathew, who last year played for Kerala Blasters, also attended the press conference and was thrilled to be part of a team which was on the top of its game. “Pune is a very professional team, very good coaching staff…Which is probably why we are at the top spot. But it’s football, we can't predict tomorrow's results but as a player I am very positive we will do well in the coming matches.“It was a beautiful experience altogether, we had our training in Turkey and it was amazing. The team is bonding well and there are a lot of good players. Overall, a very good management, and credit has to be given to the coach. I know that tomorrow the crowd is going to be a major factor as they support Kerala Blasters immensely but in the end it is 11 players against 11 players. Our team is coming in with a lot of experienced players who have played a lot of top tournaments around the globe. I am sure that our team will play very well.”
