Kerala Blasters FC head into Tuesday’s encounter with FC Pune City having managed to get only one point from their last four matches. Their only win of the season so far was in their season opener against NorthEast United FC, where a convincing 3-1 victory saw the Blasters make a solid start to the 2015 Hero Indian Super League (ISL). Results, however, have gone downhill for the men in yellow, who come into this match on the back of three consecutive defeats. Head coach Peter Taylor addressed the media on Monday and stressed that he hasn’t lost faith in his side, but they must learn from their mistakes.“Yes, we started very well. Good result in the first game. Things were looking very positive but we’ve got only a point from them. So that’s disappointing. But I have still got belief that we can put together a good run and we’ve showed good improvement in the last game. We should have got a point or three against Goa but we defended badly. We have to learn from our mistakes and we have to keep trying as hard as we can. I’m ok, I’m happy.”Looking ahead to Tuesday’s match against FC Pune City, Taylor believes that his team have been unlucky to come out on the wrong end of a few results and that a positive result is just around the corner.“What’s important is we win some matches and get some points. We know we have played five matches and we know how many we have left to go. It’s important that we win enough matches to be in a good position. I think we could have got a point or three [in] every game we’ve played this year. We have lost matches due to individual mistakes, not through team shape, not through people working hard. I don’t think we are far away from a good result,” he said.Taylor also assessed his opponents FC Pune City and spoke about his opposite number David Platt, and what is set to be a battle between two Englishmen in the technical area.“I know David and I have a lot of respect for him since he’s an organized manager. The team will be in good shape. But we will approach the game like we do every game – that is to try and win. We will play the game as best as we can and we will then respect Pune’s best players. We know their strengths and we aim to take them very seriously.”Taylor still believes his side can make it to the semi-final stages of the league this year and was quick to point out that there is still a long way to go this season.“I am not very happy with the position of the team but I am happy that the teams above us are not a long, long way away. If we could win a couple of matches, we could be in a good position. About the three games we’ve lost, many players have been in that position before. The ones that stay focused and the ones that carry on believing that they will win the next one are the ones that do. So we’ve lost three games but we will work very hard to win the next one,” Taylor signed off.
