Peter Reid was all smiles on the eve of his side's match against FC Goa. Speaking from the pre-match press conference at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Reid expects a tough match against the side who are currently bottom of the league. "Goa have been unlucky. They have created chances but have just not been able to finish," he noted. "I hope that continues tomorrow!" he joked.Speaking about the inconsistency of his team, he mentioned that their defending in away games has been a worry. "We have the shape in our team and defensive organisation but our away defending has been poor. But in the past two matches, we've been disciplined."Marquee player Fredrik Ljungberg has barely been involved in the tournament so far and is currently nursing a hamstring injury. "He is training in Mumbai currently. But it's always difficult with these soft tissue injuries. We will have more news about him once we get back (to Mumbai)."Reid made it a point to note that the atmosphere in all the stadiums has been excellent. "The atmosphere has been good. Fans have been appreciative as well. Even when we were beaten 2-0 at home, the reception was great. It could very well have happened in England or Germany." Reid added that he is a cricket fan himself and thinks that cricket and football can co-exist in India like it does in England.German defender Manuel Friedrich, who was also present at the press conference, echoed his coach's views. "The football over here and abroad is different. The popularity of the sport is increasing over here. We're able to bring football to the kids. Hopefully the popularity increases," he said.
