Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto is expecting to bag their first win of the season when they travel to Delhi to take on Punjab FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi, on Tuesday.

The Yellow and Black are determined to claim three points against the Shers, who have the same goal, as both teams are yet to secure a win this season in the league.

Singto is confident that his team can manage their busy schedule, complete their recovery sessions, and be well-prepared to face Staikos Vergetis' side.

“It's not only about the (back-to-back) games; it's also an away game, and we have to travel. I think the most important thing is the players' recovery. Saying that the players are professionals they understand and the medical team and the S and C (Strength and Conditioning) coach, I think, they have planned the program well and it's a good recovery today. We should be ready for the game against Punjab FC
,” he stated in the pre-match press conference.

Despite their recent loss to Mumbai City FC, the Shers put on a spirited performance, maintaining a lead until the 82nd minute. In light of this, the Manipur-born tactician commends Punjab FC for their impressive debut season.

Setting aside the opposition's performance, Singto believes his team should demonstrate their superiority over Punjab FC and secure three points from the match.

He shared, “I think Punjab FC, coming to ISL, in the first season, have done reasonably well. Of course, seeing the standings we are above them now, but I think they have shown character and have shown that they belong to this league and I think there were moments where they looked really a part of ISL in the games.”

“Going forward to the Punjab FC match, we can say that they've done well, but I think we as the former champions and being senior to them in the ISL, nothing less than three points will be disappointing for us on November 7th against Punjab FC,” Singto added.

The 49-year-old believes his team is eager and ready for the match, aiming to head into the international break with three points from this game.

“The team is all set. I know it's just a one or two-day recovery and rest, but I believe everyone is geared up. And before the FIFA international break, we aim to go, you know, for the short break with smiling faces by securing three points,” he stated.

Malayali defender Muhammed Rafi joined Singto in the press conference. The 22-year-old made his league debut in the 1-1 draw against Bengaluru FC in the last match. Rafi shared his thoughts on that special moment and how it felt for him and his family.

It was a dream come true moment for me. Not only for myself but also for my father, who supported me throughout my journey. I'd also thank my coaches and teammates," he shared.

The defender now anticipates earning more playing time in the upcoming matches and is eagerly looking forward to winning them.

"I hope that I can get some playing time in the upcoming matches. I'll give my best to the team so that we can go all out and secure three points in every match,” Rafi commented.
