The award selection process combines fan and expert votes, each accounting for 50% of the total.
Ajaraie secured 45.84 percent of expert votes and 6.86 percent of fan votes, totaling 52.69 percent, which placed him first among the nominees. Kerala Blasters FC forward Noah Sadaoui finished second, obtaining 38.65 percent of only fan votes. Bengaluru FC defender Rahul Bheke came in third with 4.17 percent of expert votes and 1.37 percent of fan votes, bringing his total vote share to 5.53 percent.
Other nominees included Bengaluru FC forward Sunil Chhetri as well as Punjab FC defender Nikhil Prabhu.
Ajaraie’s performances so far have been exceptional. In just four ISL games in September and October, he scored four goals and provided two assists, making him one of the league’s top scorers. He marked his ISL debut with a goal off the bench against Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Despite a narrow defeat to Mohun Bagan Super Giant in their following game, Ajaraie found the net again and he also scored the only goal for the Highlanders in their 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC in their last match in September.
Remarkably, he has been involved in six of NorthEast United's seven goals this season, showcasing his vital role in the team's attack.
