NorthEast United FC head coach Marco Balbul is keen to put the frustration of the first three matches behind as the Highlanders chase their first points of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) season as they take on Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Sunday.

NorthEast United FC have lost their first three matches of the season and face Jamshedpur FC who too are winless this campaign after a defeat and a draw in their opening two matches.

Balbul is confident of his side being able to implement their plans during the match and pick up their first win of the campaign.

Balbul and defender Aaron Evans spoke to the media ahead of the match.

Here are the excerpts from the pre-match press conference:

NorthEast United FC have lost all three matches so how do you motivate the team for the match against Jamshedpur FC?

Balbul: We are frustrated and we are not satisfied with the results of our team. Zero points from the first three matches are not what we expected. We should be better in defence, avoid mistakes, and be more efficient in the last third to score the chances that we create. So we are focusing on our team in this game and our aim is to get better and pick up our first points of the season.

How will the team cope with the pressure of the home fans at Jamshedpur?

Balbul: Jamshedpur FC have an excellent squad, an excellent head coach and very good home support. But we have players that can handle such an atmosphere. It is a motivation for us to play in a full stadium and show our style of football. Of course, we will face a very strong team but we can show our quality and head to Guwahati with full points.

How do you assess Jamshedpur FC as a team?

Evans: I am looking forward to the match. The facilities here have been comfortable for us. We have worked the last 8-9 days before this match. All the players are ready and we are very excited to improve on the things we need to improve on. The match is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase this and progress from training towards a positive result.
