Chennaiyin FC got a 1-1 draw from Kochi in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League on Saturday evening and for that they had goalie Karanjit Singh to thank who denied Josu Currias from the penalty spot in the second half at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Assistant coach Vivek Nagul, who addressed the media after the match, was effusive in praise of the goalkeeper.“It was a fantastic save, the young lad saved us and brought us back into the game. We really appreciate what he did for us today. The field was full of moisture because it was raining heavily,” Nagul told reporters after the match.Nagul also expressed satisfaction at the result. “To be honest yes, at one point of time I thought we were 2-1 down. We are not happy but we are satisfied,” Nagul said.Nagul also said that Kerala were desperate for points and that made them all the more effective. “Like I said at the previous press conference, Kerala Blasters are a good team and we knew that they were desperate for points. It is hard to play against someone who is in need of points and it was tough playing against the Blasters.”With 10 points from seven matches, last year’s semi-finalists Chennai remained fifth in the table and will now host FC Goa on Thursday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
