Odisha FC assistant coach Kino Sanchez believes his team is training towards solving their defensive problems as they take on Mumbai City FC in match 48 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco da Gama on Monday.

Odisha FC are seventh in the league table with 10 points in eight matches. The club has three wins, one draw and four loses. They are one point behind Chennaiyin FC and only a win away from climbing into the top four.

Odisha FC lost 6-1 to Hyderabad FC in the last match. After an evenly contested first half, OFC conceded four goals in the second half.

Ahead of Odisha FC’s clash against Mumbai City FC, assistant coach Sanchez and midfielder Liridon Krasiniqi addressed the media during the official pre-match press conference.

Here are the excerpts from Sanchez’s press conference.

What are your thoughts on Mumbai City FC?

Sanchez: They are leading the table. They are a strong team who have good players. They know the style of football they play. But we have analysed them and know some points which will help us in the match.

What’s your take on the defensive lapses happening frequently?

Sanchez: We are aware of it. And we are training to solve these situations. But of course there have been some individual players that have cost us. We can’t blame them because it's the coaches first. We are sure we are going to make it.

Here are the excerpts from Krasinqi’s press conference.

How has your experience in Hero ISL been?

Krasiniqi: So far few things have surprised me. The vision all the clubs have. It's been positive.

Do you think you’ve been unfortunate when it comes to scoring goals?

Krasiniqi: Yeah but I am not a typical goalscorer. I bring different things to the table. If I get a goal here and there then that’s good. The most important thing is getting the three points for the team.

How’s the team morale after the last game?

Krasiniqi: It’s good. Sometimes, these things (6-1 loss to HFC) happen in football but we are going to step up and try to react fast in a positive way.
