Kerala Blasters FC assistant coach Trevor Morgan was gracious in their 4-1 defeat in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League at the hands of Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Saturday evening.

“Well, the best team won. No complaints about that. Chennai were hungrier, quicker, took chances when they came. We looked a bit tired today so we cannot have many complaints about the result. We will just have to move on,” Morgan told reporters after the match.

“Chennai were better than us in every area, all over the pitch and you have to accept that…That’s just how football works sometimes.”

Trevor also defended his team’s style of play. “That’s the way we play, full backs usually go forward, give us width which they didn’t do today. It has not been a good day for us. Sometimes you can’t expect 100 percent. Sometimes in a game, you can afford two people having an off day but like today if you have 7-8, then you’re going be in trouble. But no excuses the best team won,” he said.

After the defeat, Kerala were languishing at the bottom of the league on 11 points from 11 matches. When asked about their semi-final chances, Morgan said: “We have to accept what’s happened today. There is still nine points to play for. No time to feel sorry for ourselves. It has happened. Everybody has got to man up including myself. It’s not impossible for us to qualify so we have to get nine points from our last three games and see what happens.”
