Kerala Blasters FC assistant coach Trevor Morgan said that his team would have to convert their chances and also defend better against set pieces if they have to change the game in the Hero Indian Super League against leaders Atlético de Kolkata tomorrow.Making an appearance at the pre-match press conference, the former East Bengal gaffer said, “We have to improve our scoring abilities, the chances that are created need to be converted. And we have conceded three times in the past two matches from different set-pieces, that is another area which needs to be taken care of as well.”Morgan dispelled the impression that their losing streak was due to the fact they were playing away matches or due to the fatigue of being on the road. “In both our matches we dominated in terms of possession but could not convert the opportunities we got into goals. I think that is the primary reason for our failure. And there are no issues about being tired, we have got enough gaps between the matches to recover. So we just need to start winning matches, that’s it,” he emphasised. The Englishman who is settled in Australia did not think the absence of the home team’s striker Fikru Teferra and manager Antonio Habas, both of whom are suspended, would be an advantage to the visitors. “Well, Kolkata are playing really good football, they are a good team, they are confident. Other than Fikru, they have got a great player in Luis Garcia, and Cavin Lobo played really well in their last match. So I don’t think Fikru’s absence is an advantage. I believe we need to focus on our own game to win tomorrow’s match,” he averred.Morgan conceded that it’s going to be a “strange feeling” playing an away match in Kolkata, given his stint with the red & golds earlier. “This crowd has cheered me and my boys for a long time but tomorrow we may get booed, but it’s natural that Kolkata is going to support their team only,” he opined.Kerala’s ace central midfielder Mehtab Hossain also revealed that he has never faced this situation in his life before. “This has been my home ground and I always got the support. Let’s see what happens tomorrow, we will try to win,” he declared. When a reporter asked him what he thought of playing for cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s team and yet finding themselves at the bottom of the heap, Mehtab replied, “Well, Sachin has stressed on playing good football. He believes that if we play good football, winning will come automatically!”Of the ISL, Mehtab said that the grounds, practice sessions, hotels, diets, team bus, floodlit matches were all providing an international ambience for football in India.
