There was a sense of anticipation as to what Kerala Blasters FC’s reaction to the nil-nil score line against Delhi Dynamos was going to be. The team had created some chances that could have been put away and also had a goal disallowed for an offside. Speaking to the media post the match, assistant coach Trevor Morgan stressed the obvious but felt that the team’s performance has been good and the team will keep working hard to achieve its goals. .“It’s always easier to criticize from the outside but the players don’t mean to miss those (chances), it just happens. We created opportunities but we haven’t taken them and so we cannot ask much more from them (players) besides asking them to put the chances into the net which is not happening at the moment,” Morgan explained. The English-Australian official who was earlier associated with East Bengal, was however quick to acknowledge the positives in the performance: “That’s two home games that we have now played and we have managed to keep clean sheets in both the games, we got four points, and it’s not looking that bad. All we can do is work hard in training and keep the boys positive about their scoring and keep working at that.”When asked if the 0-0 score line was a fair reflection of the game, the former Bolton Wanderers forward stated, “I was a bit disappointed at half-time that we were not in the lead, I thought that we controlled the first half and in the second half towards the end, we kept trying to win the game, because of which we left ourselves very open at the back during the last 15 minutes which exposed us. That is something that we have to rectify and something that we have to learn from and make sure that it does not happen again.”Morgan went on to inform that the striker combination of Ian Hume and Andrew Barisic used in today’s match was not a tactical one, it was merely intended to freshen things up.“Andrew has been coming along well and he got 15-20 minutes on the clock, and today, he got 75 minutes under his belt. We had to take him off because the pace of the game was just catching up with him, so we changed things. Sometimes we change things to just freshen it up, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!” he trailed off.
