Javi Hernandez: The midfielder was instrumental in Odisha FC’s win in the opening match. He broke the deadlock inside the first five minutes of the match, scoring an exquisite goal by chipping the keeper. For the second goal, the Spaniard stepped up to take the freekick and struck the ball into the top corner.
Victor Mongil: The 29-year-old along with his partner Hector Rodas had a solid performance at the back in the first game. The center-back had a passing accuracy of 86.66%. He created two clearances, and made a block and a tackle. His defensive composure helped the team to survive BFC attacks.
SC East Bengal
Antonio Perosevic: The Croatian has been one of the brightest players for SC East Bengal. The winger created three chances in the first match, out of which one turned into a goal. He had four shots at goal in the same match. In the following game against ATK Mohun Bagan, the 29-year-old made a few amazing dribbles here and there but was rather kept quiet.
Franjo Prce: The 25-year-old center-back scored against Jamshedpur FC in the opening match. He is a leader at the back who has the composure to play with the ball at his feet. Having played in Serie A and Croatian top-division, he is expected to only get better as the season progresses.
