There wasn’t much to choose between Hyderabad FC and Jamshedpur FC as both sides played out a goalless draw in Match 69 of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on Sunday. Happy with a point, Hyderabad head coach Manuel Marquez was especially satisfied with the way his team closed out their opponents and earned a clean sheet.

“I am satisfied with how we played in the first half. The second half was more equal. The style of Jamshedpur is very difficult. You have to adapt in some moments. A draw can be fair but, in my opinion, we were closer than them to win the game.

“They have very good players in their team. I am satisfied with the team because we finished the game better than the other games. This is one point more and one game less,” Marquez said after the game.

The Spaniard heaped praise on his fullback Akash Mishra and hopes to see the youngster play for the national team. “Akash was very good. He will definitely be a left-back with the national team. He is a great young player. He listens to all the things that the staff tells him. He has to improve of course but he will be a left-back in the national team.”

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur head coach Owen Coyle was hopeful of making it to the top four after ending their losing streak of three games, “We have stopped the run that we were on. We are four points off the top four with seven games to go. We will pick ourselves up and we will go again. Jamshedpur have never been in the semi-finals and to do that we need to turn the draws into wins,” he said.

Coyle believes that his team were the closest to victory after a good second half. “I feel that we were the team with the best chances. We had to deal with Hyderabad’s quality at times but I thought that if anybody was going to win the game in the second half it was Jamshedpur.”

He also spoke highly of new signing Farukh Choudhary who returned to the club from Mumbai City FC a few days ago. “Farukh was maybe the best player on the field. He is capped 10 times by the national team and that tells you his qualities. He is a wonderful player; he had a few opportunities to score. I am excited to work with him,” Coyle said.
