When FC Goa and Atlético de Kolkata met in the league phase of the Hero Indian Super League nearly two months ago at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa, it was Cavin Lobo who spoilt the hosts’ party with a superbly struck brace in the visiting team’s 2-1 victory. The Goan attacking midfielder, who came in as a late extra time substitute for Kolkata on Wednesday night, didn’t have time to do much today, but again finished on the winning side as Kolkata went on to beat Goa 4-2 via the tie-breaker in the second leg semi-final and make the title round. Talking exclusively to indiansuperleague.com after the match, the 26-year-old Lobo said, “It’s a nice feeling for everyone, we all played well and we all gave our best.” The former Sporting Clube de Goa and Dempo player who is now with East Bengal, admitted that it was very difficult playing against a home team which had so much support and was in good nick. “But we played well and the result came automatically,” Lobo quipped. He however added that it was nice to see the Goan people supporting their team. Asked what instructions came from the head coach Antonio López Habas to the team at full time, Lobo said they were told to play how they play usually. Which they did and then came up trumps in the tie-breaker.
