Kostas Katsouranis.FC Pune City’s journey in the Hero Indian Super League has been a topsy turvy ride so far. Having produced some spirited performances against a few sides, they have gone off the boil against the likes of Mumbai City FC and Kerala Blasters FC.But on the eve of their match against the table-toppers Atlético de Kolkata at the Salt Lake Stadium tomorrow, the team appeared to be in a confident mood. At the pre-match press conference, their Greek World Cupper Kostas Katsouranis and Nigerian striker Dudu Omagbemi appeared with smiles on their faces.“It’s been a month now for me here in India, I have faced no problems with the weather, I feel as if I am at home,” said a smiling Kostas, a hard running box to box midfielder. Kostas acknowledged the challenge at hand of playing against the league leaders who are still unbeaten. “They are a very good team,” he said. When asked about his team’s inconsistent performances, Greece’s stand in captain at the 2014 World Cup replied that football is a game of uncertainties. “It’s a new team, so it’s not easy, the last game was the best for us, we created a lot of scoring opportunities and we want to continue with that kind of work,” he stated.Dudu, a veteran of the Indian domestic scene, also pointed out that the team had experimented a lot in their previous matches: “Different players played in different positions, so there were some problems with the communication amongst the players, but we have been trying to get used to each other for quite a while now and we had a good outing in our last match.” Dudu was also not fazed about the possibility of missing their marquee player David Trezeguet and their head coach Franco Colomba tomorrow, claiming that the players had ample the belief in themselves. “We are ready for any challenge. We have been practising together and trying to understand each other’s game,” he stated. The Nigerian forward also played down the challenge of playing on the artificial turf and countered that the players were used to it. “It’s not easy, but we have played on this kind of pitch before,” added Kostas.
