Khalid Jamil looks to the future after loss to East Bengal FC
Khalid Jamil acknowledged Jamshedpur FC’s effort in their narrow defeat to East Bengal FC and emphasized the need for improvement moving forward.
Jamshedpur FC’s head coach, Khalid Jamil, remained positive despite his team's 1-0 defeat to East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Saturday. After a tight first half, Dimitrios Diamantakos scored the decisive goal for the Red and Gold Brigade in the 60th minute, in what proved to be the winning goal. This was the fourth straight defeat for the Men of Steel on the road.
Addressing the media in the post-match press conference, Jamil emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes while acknowledging his team's efforts.
Reflecting on the game, Jamil remarked, "We played well and we lost there is nothing more to it.. We played better. It's not that we were off-colour. We got a chance in the start. We didn't capitalize on it. And in the end, we conceded a silly, soft goal."

"We tried our best. We played better but the result was not in our favour," he added.
The Men of Steel fought valiantly, but a momentary lapse allowed East Bengal FC to score. The head coach also defended his squad’s overall performance and the effort put in by his players. Jamil also defended Javier Siverio, the Spanish striker who has been a key player for Jamshedpur FC this season and has scored four goals in 11 matches.
He said, "Everybody played well. He (Siverio) tried. He gave his best. He didn't score, but it's alright. He will bounce back again."
Jamshedpur FC has won six matches and lost five in the 11 games they have played this season. Their latest result has seen them drop out of the tox six.
"We will think about the next game. We will go step by step. It's good. We need to play well. Everyone needs to work hard and then we will get a positive result," he noted, reiterating the importance of staying consistent and motivated.
The Men of Steel will now look to bounce back as they prepare for their next fixture against Kerala Blasters FC on Sunday.
