Delhi Dynamos FC host FC Goa in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. The Lions are on a poor run of form, having succumbed to three defeats on the trot, and will be keen to make amends against the team that has scored the most goals in the league so far.

Speaking to the media during the pre-match press conference was Delhi’s captain Kalu Uche, who began by stating that the Dynamos were focusing on scoring goals for the upcoming match. “As a team, we win together, and we lose together,” he said. “We try to do everything that the coach says. Talking about the lack of goals, we are working every day and there is a lot of improvement and it is going to be a different game.”

The Nigerian admitted that his team was in a precarious situation, but stressed that the game against the Gaurs was a different challenge. “It’s true that we are second from the last position,” Uche said. “If you look at the statistics, we are not supposed to be in the position we are in today. But that is football for you. Playing against Goa tomorrow, they have a very good team. But the game tomorrow is a different game. For me, tomorrow is the most important game.”

The Delhi skipper also revealed why he has been playing in a deeper role more often than not this season. “Everything you do is to help the team,” Uche explained. “Whatever I have to do is for the team. If you need to come back or if you need to move forward, at the end of the day it is the team that counts.”
