The Islanders are in the driver’s seat in Group C after six points in two games but remain within Chennaiyin FC’s grasp who sit two points behind in second place.
The all-Indian Super League (ISL) clash will thus be a virtual quarter-final with the winners taking their place in the semi-finals.
Thanks to Mumbai City FC’s perfect record in the tournament, a draw will be enough to send Petr Kratky’s side to the next round where they will take on the winners of Group D.

Chennaiyin though can leapfrog Mumbai City FC with a win and Owen Coyle’s team will relish the opportunity to cause an upset and add further intrigue to the Kalinga Super Cup.
Mumbai City FC have been rocked with the departure of Greg Stewart but Indian youngsters have stepped up in his absence with Ayush Chikhara netting three goals for Mumbai City FC in the Kalinga Super Cup.
The Islanders have left it very late in both games to secure three points with the team scoring stoppage time winners in both matches so far. With no clean sheet to their name, Chennaiyin FC will be looking to exploit their defensive weakness.
The Islanders though have plenty of firepower in their ranks and Chennaiyin FC’s attack which has scored three goals so far will have to be at its very best to cause Mumbai City FC problems.
Kratky’s side will also have a psychological edge in the match having beaten Coyle’s men 3-0 at the Mumbai Football Arena in their last ISL game in December.

The Marina Machans will be encouraged by the fact that both Conor Shields and Jordan Murray have scored in the Kalinga Super Cup and thus will go into the Mumbai City FC game with plenty of confidence.
The game will be played at the Kalinga Stadium Main Pitch in Bhubaneswar on Sunday and will kick off at 7:30 PM IST. The match will be streamed LIVE on Jio Cinema.
