Mohun Bagan Super Giant will look to continue their positive run in the Kalinga Super Cup when they face Hyderabad FC in their second Group A match in the tournament.

This will be the opening match of the day followed by East Bengal FC's game against Sreenidhi Deccan. The Mariners will be eyeing nothing less than three points.

Both matches will be held in Bhubaneshwar on Sunday.

The Mariners beat Sreenidhi Deccan in their first group game by a 2-1 scoreline. They currently sit in second position in their group after their previous victory.

They sit in fifth position in the Indian Super League (ISL) table with 19 points from 10 games. They suffered a minor slump in form in the league with three losses in their last three games however their performances have been dominant in most of the games they played.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant will be without several key players who will be a part of the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar.

Hyderabad FC lost their previous group game against East Bengal FC by a 3-2 scoreline. They will look to open their account in the tournament with a win against Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

The Yellow and Blacks have endured a tough start to their season and are winless in the ISL so far this season. They sit last in the table and have not been able to take points in their last two matches.

They are also without a number of important players like Nikhil Poojary, who is playing in the Asian Cup in Qatar.

The last match between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Hyderabad FC in the ISL ended in a 2-0 scoreline in favour of the Mariners. 

With almost no margin for error in the group that sees only one team progress to the next round, it is a must-win game for Hyderabad FC while the Mariners too would want to be in a position to strike ahead of the Kolkata derby.

East Bengal FC face tricky Sreenidi Deccan test

East Bengal FC will want to extend their winning run in the Kalinga Super Cup when they face Sreenidhi Deccan in their second match Group A fixture.


They beat Hyderabad FC by a scoreline of 3-2 in their previous fixture.

They sit in eighth position in the ISL table with 11 points from 10 games. They have been a defensively resolute side this season with only eight goals conceded in the league which makes them the side with the second least goals conceded so far this season. They will also hope to continue this solid defensive performance in the Kalinga Super Cup.

They will miss the services of important players like Lalchungnunga and Naorem Mahesh Singh who will be a part of the Indian National team in the AFC Asian Cup.

Sreenidi Deccan have made a solid start to their I-League season and sit in third position with 20 points in 11 games. Deccan are the joint-highest goalscorers in the I-League this season and will test the Red and Gold brigade's defensive resolve.
