Mumbai City FC came from behind to register a 2-1 win over Jamshedpur FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday. The win will be a big boost to their top four chances in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20. The Islanders fell behind to a Noe Acosta penalty early on but Amine Chermiti and Bidyananda Singh scored in the second half to seal the result in the Islanders’ favour.

At the post-match press conference, Mumbai head coach Jorge Costa assessed the game and said, “I was not unhappy with the way my team played in first half, and I knew I had to change some things and we made some changes at half time. We were not expecting an attacking Jamshedpur side. They changed their system. They had a lot of offensive players.”

“I am very proud of all the work that my players are putting during the games as well as the training. I don’t know what will happen in these next two games. We want to finish in the top four, this is what we want, and we will fight for” he added.

Asked if he thought the result was a fair one, Costa noted, “We had 17 shots with 11 on target. To have a draw in this match would mean both teams would have been the same, but it was not like that. I would not have been happy with that. It’s true we had some luck in the end. But it was a beautiful goal. In my opinion, to have luck, you need to work hard.”

Mumbai’s next outing will be away to FC Goa. Speaking about the upcoming challenge, he stated, “I won’t change much just because it is FC Goa. We will go there to fight for the three points. I know how to beat Goa. The most important thing is to get the points. Now we don’t have Amine Chermiti for the Goa game, so I need to think about what to do.”
